Etimologia: dal greco "fiore verde" per il colore verdastro dei fiori.

 

Distribuzione: eurosiberiana, nel bacino mediterraneo presente dalla Spagna alla Libia e alla Siria; in Italia meno comune di P. bifolia al Nord, assente solo in Sardegna, dove č vicariata da P. algeriensis.

 

Habitat: pių o meno come P. bifolia, ma rar. sopra 1800 m e con preferenze pių marcate per ambienti calcarei e xerici.

 

Fioritura: V-VII(VIII).

 

Caratteri essenziali

Fiori verdastri con sfumature bianco-giallastre, poco profumati.

Sperone con apice claviforme.

Logge polliniche divergenti verso la base, ben distanziate.
